Difference Between Justice and Revenge

Justice and revenge can be assessed as two varied terms that overlap in specific conditions, and therefore, clearly, some disparities exist between the two words, justice and revenge. The two words can be analyzed as choices when responding to a particular action that one sees as unfair or incorrect. We engage in activities of justice and revenge to allow the other group to understand that they did something unjust. Therefore every wrong action an individual does have its penalty. However, justice and revenge vary from one another. Justice is described as a right and fair demeanour. While on the other hand, revenge has to do with doing something dangerous for a wrong or injury that has been provoked. This points out that the primary difference between justice and revenge stalks from justice is the correct procedure for dealing with the crisis, while revenge is more concentrated on harming the offender instead of gaining fairness.

What is Justice?

When paying maximum concentration to the term justice, it is gotten from the term just, which is described as fair. This stands as a reminder to every individual that when you do something unfair, you have to bear the penalties for what you committed. In every community, this is a structure of justice. This structure has not only been formed by the constituents of a particular society but as well, has been agreed upon as the proper conduct of handling offences. This structure dictates laws and guidelines for various kinds of offensive and also abnormal conduct. This can be regarded as an arranged method of punishing those who do wrong. Sexual harassment, theft, and murder can be regarded as instances of crime since they are all equated with a penalty considered appropriate by the community. This authorizes the community to retain the social order in a just conduct. Those who perpetrate crimes are offered a penalty, but the justification for punishing the person is not hatred. It is only done to resuscitate fairness. For instance, some neighbours captured a thief looting several valuables from a townlet. If the thief is forwarded to a police station, where he would be offered a penalty based on the existing rules, it is described as justice. Also, one has to understand that in some situations, justice has its restrictions. In such examples, individuals turn towards revenge as a standard for acquiring their method of justice.

What is Revenge?

Revenge can be described as doing something dangerous for an unfair or wound provoked by a particular person. The past instance can be used to clarify this term too. Imagine if the thief was hooked by some neighbours and was whipped to death as a penalty; this is described as revenge. Hence, it can be analyzed since the individuals do not pay awareness to the justice of action and grab justice to their palms. It is propelled by outrage and hatred. The noteworthy feature is that unlike in the possibility of justice, in revenge, individuals are encouraged to act as a result of the overwhelming feeling of anger. The familiar saying, “A tooth for a tooth, is often the vengeful person’s battle scream.” If the individual who wronged took away the special items, there is a chance for the others to pay back in a similar method.
