Comcast, the biggest cable provider in the United States, is changing its name. According to the company’s blog, Xfinity will now replace Comcast as the company’s new product name in an attempt to show customers that it’s not the “same old company,” but rather an innovator.

But Verizon Fios Home Internet scored higher than Xfinity, likely thanks to its fiber-optic network. Fiber internet is a newer technology than the cable tech Xfinity uses. And it gives you faster download and upload speeds, plus fiber internet connections tend to be more reliable.

DIRECTV may have second-year price hikes, but Xfinity has lots of fees. In some cases, it could be cheaper to go the DIRECTV route. If you choose Xfinity’s Starter package, you could be spending close to $115–$125 per month with all of the added-on fees.
