Facts of Life star Mindy Cohn had surgery in the recent past.
She underwent a double mastectomy, a type of surgery in which the removal of both breasts takes place. Chemotherapy, radiation, and many other treatment methods for breast cancer followed the surgical procedure.
Mindy felt exhaustion while walking around the neighborhood in Los Angeles. After that, she asked for help from her friend, Helen Hunt, and paid a visit to a hospital. The doctors then diagnosed her with cancer in 2012.
Although the diagnosis was absurd, she received grueling treatments and faced relapses. Nonetheless, she remained silent on the subject and only shared the news after five years in October 2017.
Though an optimist, her battle with the disease was a hard one. It kept spreading throughout the body and coming back through Metastasis. This particular even left her frustrated and enraged.
Nevertheless, Cohn won the battle through continued treatments and respite at the farm of her pals, Josh Kilmer Purcell and Dr. Brent Ridge. She is now cancer-free. After keeping her fight a secret for a long time, she finally put it behind in 2017.
