In 2007, Jennette McCurdy was just Sam Puckett to the young viewers of iCarly. Sam, the street smart, chicken-loving, brilliantly amusing tomboy who kept Freddie in his place and still managed to be Carly’s best friend despite being her polar opposite, was popular with kids on Nickelodeon’s blockbuster show iCarly.
Unfortunately, behind the scenes, McCurdy was a young, defenseless child who was being used and abused by both the business and her mother.
Did Dan Schneider Sexually Assault Jennette Mccurdy At Nickelodeon?
In her brand-new autobiography, Jennette McCurdy writes that while working as a producer on the set of iCarly, she was “photographed in a bikini at a wardrobe fitting and being encouraged to drink alcohol by an intimidating character she just refers to as the Creator.
She further added that Nickelodeon offered her $300,000 if she would agree to never talk in public about her time working at the network. That Nickelodeon knew Dan Schneider was a child abuser who had a contract with them and was protected by them for years because he brought in money cannot be emphasized enough.
Now that the ugly truth has been revealed to the world, his past tweets are resurfacing on the web. It explains inappropriate fantasies, and the dissection proves the then teenager’s point completely.
One of the Twitteratti says, “So, Nickelodeon KNEW Dan Schneider was a creep around child stars all this time but didn’t say shit because he was making them the most money on the network. But they only decided to fire him for allegations AFTER iCarly, Victorious, and Sam & Cat were finished.”
Jennette McCurdy’s New Memoir and Hush Money Detail
In her new book, “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” Jennette McCurdy claims that Nickelodeon gave her $300,000 in “hush money” to keep quiet about the alleged abuse she endured at the hands of “The Creator.” This accusation was included in a book excerpt that was released by Vanity Fair. McCurdy chooses to refer to her alleged abuser simply as “The Creator” rather than by name.
Nickelodeon has been contacted by Variety for comment about McCurdy’s assertions.
McCurdy claims that “The Creator” massaged her shoulders inappropriately and urged her to drink alcohol while she was only 18 years old. The performer claims that although her shoulders did have many knots, she did not want The Creator to be the one to remove them. She wanted to tell him to stop, but she was too afraid to speak for fear of upsetting him.
Where Is Dan Schneider Today?
According to four persons with knowledge of the assessment, which claimed they were not allowed to speak about it, ViacomCBS reportedly conducted interviews with scores of workers. The assessment, according to the persons, found no evidence of Schneider’s sexual wrongdoing, but it did find he had a history of verbally abusing coworkers.
Schneider said he never behaved improperly with coworkers. If I’d mistreated my performers of any age, especially minors, I couldn’t, and I wouldn’t have the lifelong friendships and unwavering allegiance from so many respectable individuals, he stated.
