Dick Leach’s wife: Meet Sandy Leach

Dick married Rosemary Kearns in 1949. Together they raised nine children and are the proud grandparents of thirty grandchildren.

In 1922 Joseph Leach, then twenty-five years old, was invited by his father-in-law, George Diederich, to open a small printing business in the basement of 4450 N. Ravenswood Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. George Diederich and his brother had previously started a business that sold services to banks.

They worked toward achieving that goal by hand-delivering literature that advertised bank services. Joseph Leach called the new printing enterprise Argus Press.

While the new printing business initially served the banking operations of Joseph Leach, Leach endeavored to expand Argus Press and canvassed Chicago’s North Side in search of prospective buyers of commercial printing.
