Devon Edwenna Aoki was born in New York City on 10. August 1982 to the family of Rocky Aoki and Pamela Hilburger. Her father is the famous former Olympic wrestler and founder of the Benihana restaurant while her mother Pamela works as a jewelry designer. Aoki’s appearance already reveals her ethnicity and race. She is of Japanese descent from her father and German-English descent from her mother.

Aoki grew up in California with her older sister and younger brother. She also has four half-siblings including Steve Aoki – the American musician and DJ. Growing up, Devon Aoki enrolled at the American School in London for her high school education.
