A spokeswoman for KYW parent company Entercom Communications Corp. said Nakano will be a part-time news anchor.

Nakano left NBC10 on June 1 after 17 years as a reporter and anchor there. She indicated via social media that perhaps her departure was not her doing, saying “I accept there is no playbook in 2020” before thanking her longtime viewers. Reports at the time were that NBC10 had “begun the process of offering buyouts to employees who were interested.”

Nakano had been NBC10’s weekend evening anchor for many years and has won six Emmy awards and an Edward R. Murrow award for her work.

By joining KYW, Nakano will be partnering with her former NBC10 colleagues.
