Death Hoax: No, Desmond Tutu Is Not Dead- Wife Leah Tutu and Family

Desmond Tutu’s death news is false and he has not passed away. He had become the victim of death hoax previously as well. However, at that time, he slammed the rumors himself.

This time around, as well, the rumors had once again begun. It all started from a fake Twitter account of Stephen Moreo. The username @BishopSMoreo falsely tweeted about his death which began to circulate on the Internet.

It happened after a popular figure named Nick Hedley shared the tweet on his profile thinking it was the official account of the present Bishop of Johannesburg.

However, it seems he realized that it was a fake profile and later apologized for sharing it as well. Nevertheless, he has 14k followers on his profile alone. There is no doubt how many people may have seen the tweet and believed it.

Thus, it gave fire to the rumors and some news sources also went on to believe it and wrote about it. Thus, this is how it all began.

Desmond Tutu is alive and kicking in 2021. After the rumors went out like fire, an official page of Desmond and Leah Tutu denied the rumors. They said the pair were well and are with them at present.

The Twitter account that initially posted such news does not exist anymore. It seems after the user found out that his falsified news has been slammed by the official Tutu legacy page, it has deleted the account.

Desmond Tutu’s wife is Leah Tutu with whom he has been married since 1955. The pair have four children and one of which is the South African resist named Mpho Tutu.

She is also an author and activist. There is rarely any information about his other children.
