Davis Webb bio

Davis Matthew Webb was born in Prosper, Texas, United States of America on January 22, 1995. His parents’ names are Matt Webb and Donna Webb. More information about his childhood and parents is not known as Davis is a very private person who chooses to keep his private life out of the spotlight.

Notwithstanding, for his education, he was enrolled in Keller High School where he started playing football as a teenager. He later transferred to Prosper High School, located in his hometown of Prosper, Texas. At Prosper High, Davis was under the tutelage of coach Kent Scott, which ultimately led to Davis helping his team progress from the District Championship to the Texas 4A Regional Semifinals.

His performance was unprecedented and won him much praise and recognition. Some of those recognitions include being named a first-team All-District as a junior and an All-State honorable mention. Prior to graduating from high school in 2012, Davis Webb did well with 2,658 passing yards, 589 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns.

NFL Career

Fresh out of high school, he was signed by the Texas Tech Red Raiders after being rated a 4-star prospect by ESPN 013. In 2013, while a college freshman, Webb played dual roles at alternate times. He occasionally played as a starting and backup quarterback for Baker Mayfield, who was also a freshman. While playing for the team, he came down with an unidentified illness that caused him to lose over 40 pounds within days of the start of a new season, but he recovered quickly. He made his first-ever appearance in any of the competitions against TCU, had an outstanding run throwing the game-winning touchdown to Bradley Marquez, who was the wide receiver at the time.

Davis Webb later announced on January 27, 2016 that he would transfer from Texas Tech to the University of Colorado Boulder. However, he changed his mind and transferred to the University of California, Berkeley instead of the University of Colorado. On May 25, 2016, coach Sonny of Dykes announced that the deal for Davis’ transfer had been completed and he was eligible to start playing for the “California Golden Bears” immediately. Webb had an impressive performance as he completed 382 of 620 passes (62%) for 4,295 yards, 37 touchdowns and twelve interceptions for a 135.63 QBR in his lone season in California.

Following the completion of his college education, Davis Webb’s career took on another dimension when he was selected by the New York Giants in the third round (87th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft, which made making him the fifth quarterback to be selected that year. He was then signed by the New York Giants on May 11, 2017 on a contract worth $3.53 million for a four-year term, with a guaranteed signing bonus of $766,420.

Height, weight, measurements

One thing that is synonymous with football players is the combination of strength and stamina with good height as an added advantage. The reason for this is simply that, for an intense contact sport of this nature, athletes should definitely have the right body structure if they have a chance against other hard-hitting teammates as well as opponents on the playing field.

Webb scores well a ten when it comes to the standing height department at an enviable height of 6ft 4in (1.96m); with its weight which is 230 lbs (104 kg). He’s not the tallest but his mass in terms of bone structure and strength makes him an athlete who can hold his own against equally tough opponents.
