American politician David W. Hoyle, who lived from February 4, 1939, to March 29, 2023, was from North Carolina.
From 1993 until 2010, he served as a Democrat in the North Carolina General Assembly, serving the state’s forty-third Senate district. From 2010 to 2013, he served as the state’s secretary of revenue.
He was a Lenoir-Rhyne College alumnus and a real estate developer from Dallas, North Carolina. He also held the office of mayor of the community.
Hoyle, who was serving his tenth term in the state Senate, declared in 2009 that he will step down after the 2009–2010 legislative session.
Gov. Beverly Perdue nominated him to the Cabinet position of Secretary of Revenue just before his tenure in office ended in 2010.
