David Sedaris Biography
The New-York born humorist, comedian, author and radio contributor, David Sedaris, is well known for being recognized in 1992. The recognition happened when Santaland Diaries his essay was broadcasted by a National Public Radio. From there he published his first collection of essays and short stories Barrel Fever in 1994.
David was born and raised in New York where his mother was Sharon Elizabeth Sedaris while his father was an IBM engineer known as Louis Harry Sedaris better known as Lou. His father has the Greek ancestry while his mother was Anglo American. He was raised in his father’s Greek Orthodox faith.
David is the second child of six. He attended and graduated from Jesse O. Sanderson High School in Raleigh. from there he proceeded to Western California University in 1977. He later relocated to Chicago where he graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1987
