David Raccuglia is the son of Anthony Raccuglia, the prosecutor who had Chester Weger sentenced to life in prison in 1961.
Anthony Raccuglia, Raccuglia’s father, was the assistant state’s attorney at Weger’s trial. Raccuglia took up the investigation after a 2003 article claimed that the father had lied in Weger’s case.
Raccuglia said in “The Murders At Starved Rock” that Chester Weger was his childhood boogeyman and that he “used to lay in bed, scared that he was going to murder me” because his father participated in the trial.
