David Jason Muir is an American journalist and the anchor of ABC World News Tonight and co-anchor of the ABC News magazine 20/20, part of the news department of the ABC broadcast-television network, based in New York City.

David Muir was born on 8 November 1973 and he is 49 years old. He is 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m) tall. He graduated from Onondaga Central Junior-Senior High School in May 1991 and went on to Ithaca College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism in May 1995.
He interned at WTVH-TV in Syracuse throughout high school. Muir was motivated while in college by a lecturer who told him he had “the cut of a TV newsman.”
He spent a semester at Georgetown University’s Fund for American Studies Institute on Political Journalism and another semester abroad with the Institute for International Education of Students at the University of Salamanca in Spain.
