David Moyes began his career in 1978 where he represented teams in his youth such as IBV in Iceland and later, Drumchapel Amateurs in Scotland. David Moyes was a centre back and he made 540 appearances throughout his career, representing Celtic, Cambridge United, Bristol City, Shrewsbury Town, Dunfermline Athletic, Hamilton Academical and Preston North End.
As a player, Moyes won the Scottish League Premier division with Celtic in 1981-82, he won the Associate Member’s Cup with Bristol City in 1985-86 and the Football League Third Division with Preston North End in 1995-96.
