David Keith Lynch, an American filmmaker, actor, and visual artist was brought forth on January 20, 1946.
Lynch re-engaged ABC with his television drama proposal. The network gave Lynch the go-ahead to begin production on a two-hour Mulholland Drive pilot, but disagreements about the plot and length caused the project to be placed on hold indefinitely.
Nonetheless, Lynch finished the pilot and turned it into the movie Mulholland Drive with the help of $7 million from the French production company StudioCanal.
Starring Naomi Watts, Laura Harring, and Justin Theroux, the film is a non-linear surrealist narrative about the shadowy underbelly of Hollywood.
