The company specializes in providing investment managing services to partnership, trusts, institutional clients, individuals and retirement accounts. Being a longtime friend of Warren Buffett, Gottesman became an early investor in Berkshire Hathaway, and later in 2003, he joined its Board of Directors. Currently, he owns Berkshire Hathaway’s shares worth $3 billion. Known for his philanthropic work, in 2008, Gottesman and his wife, Ruth, gave $25 million to the Yeshiva University medical school.
