David Ernest Duke (born July 1, 1950) is an American White nationalist, author, and right-wing politician who served as the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan and as a Republican Louisiana State Representative. In 1988, he ran for President of the United States as a Democrat, and in 1992, he ran for President of the United States as a Republican. Duke has ran for the Louisiana State Senate, the United States Senate, the United States House of Representatives, and the Governorship of Louisiana all without success. Duke calls himself a “racial realist,” believing that “everyone has a fundamental human right to maintain their own ancestry.” He opposes Jewish dominance of the Federal Reserve Bank, the federal government, and the media, as he sees it. Duke is a staunch supporter of Western culture and conservative Christian “family values,” as well as strict Constitutionalism, the elimination of the Internal Revenue Service, voluntary racial segregation, fervent anti-communism, and white separatist. Duke is described as “the most recognised person on the American extreme right” and “a neo-Nazi” by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Racism, antisemitism, and Holocaust denial define his beliefs.
