Footballer David Alaba’s family is very rich in terms of ethnicity. George Alaba, David Alaba’s father, is from Nigeria. He has a fascinating backstory. George Alaba immigrated to Austria from Nigeria and became a brilliant and well-known musician, as well as a serving soldier in the Austrian army.
David Alaba’s father was born as a crown prince of Ogun State, Nigeria — his father was a king. George’s parents sent him to study overseas since his family never needed anything. The Nigerian royal couple picked Vienna, Austria, for their son’s education.
In 1984, George traveled to Vienna University of Economics and Business to study Economics, which was his major focus at the time. George Alaba met his wife Gina in 1988. She, like him, was an immigrant.
Gina was born in the Philippines but moved to Austria to pursue her goal of becoming a nurse. George and Gina struck it off right away, and they later married. They had two adorable children, a boy named David Alaba and his smaller sister Rose May Alaba.
