Papini’s fake kidnapping story is airing on the Dateline NBC on Friday at 9 pm. In particular, Papini has signed a plea deal, where she has admitted that she faked her kidnapping in 2016 according to Showbiz Cast.

Sherri Papini’s ex-boyfriend James Reyes has now come forward with his side of the story.
According to Daily Mail, Reyes picked up the mother of two in a rented car on the day she vanished after exchanging romantic texts with her for weeks. Reyes also admitted to dropping Papini off by the roadside in Woodland when her twisted plot came to an end.
Reyes claims the two spent three weeks hiding out in his Costa Mesa apartment, where he assisted her in fabricating her injuries, including a brand on her shoulder, when she came home.
When confronted, the 37-year-old admitted to his participation in the deceit based on male DNA found on Papini’s underwear. He believed Papini was in an abusive relationship and went to her hometown of Redding to pick her up after she requested assistance in fleeing.
James is an Athletic store worker and knew Sherri since they were just 13 or 14 years old. The couple was engaged previously and dated for several years.

Sherri Papini’s husband Keith Papini has filed for divorce after she pleaded guilty according to The Sacramento Bee.
Keith had stood beside Sherri for the last six years and believed her story of kidnap but after she pleaded guilty to the hoax, he has sought a way out of their marriage.
In an ABC interview on “20/20” after she was found, Keith Papini described the ordeal of her disappearance and his belief she had been kidnapped.
Keith Papini filed for “dissolution with minor children” on Wednesday and a hearing is set for May 9.
