Darvin Moon Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

Darvin Moon (born October 1, 1963) is a self-employed logger and amateur poker player who finished second in the US$10,000 no-limit Texas hold’em main event at the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP). He was competing in the World Series of Poker for the first time. Moon, who taught himself how to play poker, operated a tiny logging business in the Maryland Panhandle before winning a $130 satellite event and qualifying for the 2009 World Series.

Moon took the chip lead early in the tournament, and with approximately 30% of the chips in play, he made it to the final table as the chip leader. Moon temporarily lost the lead, but after eliminating experienced players like Steve Begleiter and Phil Ivey, he was able to reclaim it. Moon eventually lost to Joe Cada in a head-to-head match, earning him US$5.18 million for his second-place finish. Moon was lauded for his working hard attitude and self-deprecating approach, despite some criticism of his playing style and lack of experience. Moon competed in the 2010 National Heads-Up Poker Championship, but was defeated by Annie Duke in the second round. He also played in the main event of the 2010 World Series of Poker, but was eliminated on the second day.
