Alongside a lucrative career as an interior designer, Darren also enjoys a happy family with his long-time partner, Olivier, and their son Hugo.

Darren Palmer Has Adopted Son Named Hugo

Darren Palmer and Olivier Duvillard are the proud parents of their 12-year-old son, Hugo. The small family of three shares beautiful family homes in Sydney and Byron Bay.

The interior designer and author is a working dad and is kept occupied by his client projects, learning French, and grueling gym regime. Over the years, he has been vocal about his journey toward fatherhood and his beloved husband.

Palmer gets less than half of the time to spend with his son. “We have a little more time to work or rest than some parents,” he said. He uses his time doing fun things and family stuff building good memories of the family.

He does his best in balancing his work and family life. “It’s a good balance but we would happily spend all of our time together as a family too,” Palmer added. He also said that there are many things to achieve but nothing is more important than his family.

Does Darren’s Son Have The Coolest Kids Room?

Darren’s son, Hugo, has a good boys room with an orange bunk bed, blue paint, Spider-Man decals on the wall, his name in big letters on his bed, and some cool bed linen. He also enjoys a playroom full of Legos.

He has a massive table that Darren DIY’d and he is more interested in the gaming setup that he got for Christmas. Hugo’s room is part of their luxurious house and has the same livable aesthetic. His toys take up a lot of space in the living areas.

Darren loves making perfect spaces ready for some amazing photographs but prefers to live in a stylish yet comfortable space. He makes sure that thing is so precious that it can’t be replaced apart from the art.

He says, “the most important things in my home are our loved one, four (their dogs) and two-legged, and how they enjoy it.”

The union between Darren Palmer and his partner Olivier Duvillar has resulted in two weddings.

Darren and Olivier have been married for over a decade and have been inseparable ever since.

Who Is Olivier Duvillard?

Darren’s husband, Olivier, is a skincare connoisseur and the former CEO of Ultraceuticals. He also serves as the chief executive officer for Dr. Naomi Skin Pty Ltd. He possesses extensive knowledge in the field of cosmetics.

Cosmetic industry expert Olivier offers a unique set of skills due to his varied experience in the cosmetic industry. He has gained valuable insights within leading organizations Estee Lauder & L ‘Oreal.

He has honed his skills, applying his sharp business sense, recently serving as a branding consultant and strategic branding for local brands. He also worked as a strategic advisor for price equity groups like Mercury Capital and KKR.

Olivier’s deep understanding of cosmetics, body clinics, and laser skin allows him the specialized position to map out a clear strategic vision and consider multiple facets of businesses within the fragrance, cosmetic, and medical skincare industries.

How Did Darren And Olivier Met?

According to Olivier, Darren was not ready and declined his date invitation three times before accepting it. The pair initially met in the same social circles, and it took several years for them to go on a date.

They went on a gallery opening on their first-ever date. Palmer recalls dropping Olivier home, giving him a goodnight kiss, and then “I knew I was in deep trouble.” Two days later, they again met for their second date.

Six weeks after their initial encounter, the happy couple got engaged. A few weeks after Olivier proposed to his loving partner, he presented him with the artwork on his birthday that Darren had fallen in love with on their first date.

Olivier had gone back to the gallery three days later and bought it. He said, “I wanted to keep a memory, I guess, of that moment we connected.” “I think when you know, you kind of know,” he said of meeting his now-husband.

The Pair Initially Married In 2011

After getting engaged six weeks after the first meeting, the pair ultimately decided to exchange marital vows in 2011 in Capetown, South Africa, rather than in Australia because of the country’s restriction on same-gender marriages.

They remarried in 2018 after the Australian regulation restricting same-gender marriage was finally overturned and made legal. Darren and Olivier have been married more than eleven years and enjoy a blissful life with their son, Hugo.

Darren and Olivier invited their entire families to their big day and waited until the very last minute to reveal the news about what was going on. In 2007, they purchased a property in Sydney, and they can be found relaxing between their homes in Byron Bay and Sydney.

A native of France, Olivier, whose country decriminalized homosexual marriage in 2013, recalls being astounded by Australia’s backward stance on the issue.
