Darren Fletcher Illness Surgery And Health Update.
Fletcher suffered from long term chronic bowel disease called ulcerative colitis in 2011. In an interview, he said that he had to run to the toilet almost 30 times a day and also lost a lot of blood. He was admitted to the hospital multiple times and was put on IV drips.
Fletcher became aware of the problem in 2008. After 2 years, the disease started to have damaging effects on his health and career. He only appeared a total of 10 times in the season campaign after the 2011-2012 season.
In December 2011, he announced that he was taking a break from playing. Following that he finally had surgery in January of 2013. The surgery was a success and Fletcher got back to normal life and was able to play football again.
Now he is being considered for the temporary head coach position after Manchester United decided to part ways with coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
