Darick Hall Family Life Growing Up
Darick was born to a single mother Lynette Andrade on July 25, 1995 in Hereford. Lynette was only 18 years old when she became a mother.
Andrade was born as the older child of James and Joyce on 1977. She holds a psychology degree from the University of Arizona.
The Philadelphia baseball star is very appreciative of how his mom took care of him in the chilhood days, ensured quality education and played a vital role in his career growth.
Hall embarked on a collegiate baseball career as a pitcher and a first baseman at Cochise College. He joined the Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball team post his sophomore year.
It didn’t take long for the talented youngster to make his mark as he was named the Missouri Valley Conference player of the year following a series of stellar performance batting at an average of .302 along with 20 home runs.
Darick is Inspired From His Grandfather
If there’s someone Darick has the highest regard for, then it is none other than his grandfather James Bo Hall.
Talking about the old man, he was quoted saying, “My pop always poured himself into me like I was his son. He always knew how to get the best out of me.”
For someone who has grown up all his life without even knowing the name of his father, forget about the meeting; Darick ran out of words to thank his pop and uncles who not only filled the void but also guided him to a successful baseball career.
Bo played minor league baseball in the San Franciso Giants system alongside playing pro ball in Mexico as well. He later scouted for the Florida Marlins and Chicago Cubs.
Bo made his name during his long stints as the head basketball coach at Eastern Arizona College and Cochise College. On top of that, he was also inducted into the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2017.
Uncles Also Played Baseball
Arizona baseball legend’s two sons, Shane and Ladd followed in his footsteps and pursued a career in the sport.
They inherited baseball knowledge and skills from Bo and played at Eastern Arizona. Shane played three seasons in the Boston Red Sox system. Although Ladd was drafted thrice, he didn’t sign due to the injured arm.
Whenever his uncles used to go to the game, little Darick used to go alongside grandpa and watch them play.
The inspiration to pursue his own career in baseball and implement the lessons from his idols was always there for Darick since childhood. And now he relishes his dream of playing in the MLB for the Phillies. No wonder pop and uncles are so proud of him!
