Dane Jeffrey Cook is an American stand-up comedian and actor born March 18, 1972, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cook attended Arlington High School while growing up in Arlington, Massachusetts. He was brought up as a Catholic.
Because he once accepted every friend request he got and just reached one million, he is frequently referred to as “the most popular guy on MySpace” (besides site developer Tom Anderson).
Dane first became aware of his comedic aptitude when his father, the late radio host George Cook, gave him a tape recorder and a microphone when he was a youngster.
Several comedians, including Bill Cosby, Johnny Carson, George Carlin, and even Red Skelton, served as sources of inspiration for him.
He saw Martin Short as Ed Grimley on Saturday Night Live while he was in the seventh grade. He now understood his life’s ambition: to appear on the show.
