Dana White is the current President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization in the world. White and brother bought the UFC years ago at $2 million and turned it into a multibillion-dollar enterprise. As of January 2021, White’s net worth is estimated at $500 million.
Biography
Dana Frederick White Jr was born in Manchester, Connecticut, on July 28, 1969, to June and Dana White. He was raised by his mother and took up boxing when he was 17. Dana graduated from Hermon High School in Maine in 1987. He started college twice but dropped out during his first semester both times.
White heard the UFC was looking for a new buyer when he was a manager for fighters; Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell. Upon hearing the news, he got in touch with his friend, Lorenzo Fertitta and in 2001, Lorenzo and his older brother Frank bought the UFC for $2million. White was appointed president.
In 2005, they introduced reality show; The Ultimate Fighter which won a new audience. The UFC was sold to a group of private investors for over $4billion in 2016. Dana is reported to receive 9 per cent of all future profit.
White and his wife Anne got married in 1996 and are blessed with two sons, Dana III and Aidan, and one daughter, Savannah.
