From the band’s inception in 1968 until his retirement from active touring with the group in 2013, William Daniel McCafferty (14 October 1946 – 8 November 2022) was a Scottish vocalist best known for his work as the band Nazareth’s main singer.

Scotland’s Dunfermline is the place of McCafferty’s birth. Dan McCafferty has toured with Nazareth for 45 years and has appeared on every album released by them up to 2014.
