Dan began his career working as an assistant to director Guy Ritchie. When English actor Jason Flemyng called, he asked if he wanted to work as a runner in actor Vinnie Jones’ office. He was offered £30 per day for the position. Dan agreed and became a production assistant as a result.

He worked as a runner on the set of Guy’s 1998 British–American crime comedy film ‘Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.’ Dan worked again with the director on the production of ‘Snatch,’ a British crime comedy film released in 2000.

In the 2002 British drama film ‘Morvern Caller,’ he played ‘Dazzer.’ Dan wrote the 2004 TV movie ‘Dancestar USA 2004.’ He has collaborated on a few projects with Madonna.

He was the second unit director for Madonna’s 2005 documentary ‘I’m Going to Tell You a Secret.’ Dan worked as a camera operator for Madonna’s concert film, ‘Madonna: Sticky & Sweet Tour.’
