Updates o Ghostbusters 3

It’s been almost 30 years since Ghostbusters II (and nearly 35 years since Ghostbusters), but the classic comedies might be finally getting the follow-up that it’s fans have been waiting for.

The main cast then featured Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis and the late Harold Ramis, and after answering the same question for three decades now, Aykroyd has confirmed that another production is currently in the works.

Speaking on an episode of AXS TV’s The Big Interview with Dan Rather, he said: “There is a possibility of a reunion with the three remaining Ghostbusters. It’s being written right now.”

Those three remaining Ghostbusters would be himself, Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray. Although Murray has never been that interested in a reboot, Aykroyd thinks he’ll actually sign up this time.

“I think Billy will come. The story’s so good. Even if he plays a ghost,” he said, referring to an idea that Murray came up with years ago.

Of course, there’s no guarantee this movie will actually ever happen, given there’s been so many false starts at this point, but it’s the first time Aykroyd has sounded so confident about one since the 2016 all-female reboot.
It’s safe to assume that this film wouldn’t be connected to Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, either.

Firstly, because it was a bit of a box-office bomb and didn’t impress the critics all that much, and secondly, because the original cast cameoed as completely different characters in it, meaning they’re likely set in different universes.
