Gilbert Arenas’s net worth, biography, fact, career, awards and life story

Gilbert Arenas Net Worth: Gilbert Arenas is an American professional basketball player who has a net worth of $40 million. During his career, Gilbert earned $160 million in salary plus tens of millions more from endorsements. Unfortunately, in recent years he has struggled financially and was even forced to sue a former financial advisor seeking $40 million in damages. He was born Gilbert Jay Arenas, Jr. on January 6, 1982. Arenas first flaunted his athletic talent at the Grant High School in Valley Glen, California, after which he accepted a scholarship offer to the University of Arizona. He entered the world of professional sports after he was selected in the second round of the 2001 NBA Draft (30th pick) by the Golden State Warriors. Two years later, he joined the Washington Wizards, reportedly after flipping a coin to choose among several teams, including the Wizards, Warriors, and Los Angeles Clippers. As a member of the Wizards he was voted the NBA Most Improved Player in the 2002–03 season, and also became a three-time member of the All-NBA Teams. In his long tenure with the Wizards, he was often referred to as Agent Zero (thanks to his former jersey number) and Hibachi (a nod to a Japenese heating device that literally translates to “bowl of fire”). After being suspended for most of the 2009–10 season (because of handgun violations), Gilbert Arenas was traded to the Orlando Magic in late 2010. But close to the end of the 2011–12 NBA season, he signed a deal to play for the Memphis Grizzlies. Later in 2012, he joined his current team Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association.
