Curtis Rx Biography and Wiki
Curtis Rx is a Southern California writer and artist best known for his musical projects Creature Element, and Rufus Rex. Creature feature has toured several times nationally.
Curtis spent most of his early childhood locked away to keep him company in a tiny steel box in a dark basement with nothing more than his warped thoughts and a single black crayon. He was taken to Woolworth’s department store on one of the few occasions he was allowed out of his cage where, in the hustle and bustle of a post-Christmas sale, he slipped from his mother’s embrace and tumbled head first down onto the tile floor below.
Fortunately the burlap sack he was carrying over his head cushioned the brunt of the crash, stopped the bleeding and collected the ejected brain matter, but from that fateful day on he held a peculiar and unearthly ability for writing music that was not of this planet. Bruised music originated from a broken mind.
Each dark corner he passed now seemed to whisper a melody, each curtain of fog murmured a harmony, every scuttering insect chattered a tune, every flicker of flame set out a beat, even the howl of nightly coyotes in the distance as they torn into their helpless prey became a chorus of cacophonous chords. Curtis now divides his various identities between his ghastly fiction writing and his two devious bands, the enigmatic traveling horror carnival known as ‘Creature Function’ and the lycanthropic supernatural medical sideshow known as ‘Rufus Rex’ between his bouts of madness.
