Curt Schilling Biography

Curt Schilling (Full name- Curtis Montague Schilling) is an American former Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher and current alt-right commentator for Blaze TV. He was born on November 14, 1966, Anchorage, Alaska, U.S. He helped lead the Philadelphia Phillies to the World Series in 1993, and won championships in 2001 with the Arizona Diamondbacks and in 2004 and 2007 with the Boston Red Sox.

Curt Schilling retired with a postseason career record of 11–2, and his .846 postseason winning percentage is a major-league record among pitchers with at least ten decisions. He has the highest strikeout-to-walk ratio of any of the 3,000-strikeout club members. Schilling is tied at third for the most 300-strikeout seasons. He has the second highest JAWS of any pitcher of post 19th century pitchers, not in the Hall of Fame (behind only Roger Clemens).

Schilling founded Green Monster Games after retiring, which was renamed 38 Studios. In February 2012, the company released Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Schilling laid off his entire staff three months later, amid severe financial troubles.

Schilling was signed as a radio-personality by the Howie Carr radio network to do a Saturday morning politics and sports show. An outspoken conservative, he joined Breitbart in 2016.

Schilling is married to Shonda Schilling since 1992. The couple has four children: Gehrig (born 1995), Gabriella (born 1997), Grant (born 1999), and Garrison (born 2002). Schilling is a Christian who is born-again.

Curt Schilling Daughter

Curt Schilling tweeted out congratulations in 2015, to his daughter for getting accepted to college, where she would play softball. Like her father, Gabby is also a pitcher. The Proud father who is active on social media and particularly on Twitter (@gehrig38) posted a Tweet that read “Congrats to Gabby Schilling who will pitch for the Salve Regina Seahawks next year!!”

The trolls didn’t take long to pounce. Schilling recounted what happened next on his blog. At first, it was the usual “I’ll take care of her” and “looking forward to partying with her,” Schilling wrote. But later came tweets that were just disgusting. Schilling posted screenshots from two offenders. He promised to defend his daughter and even revealed the true identity of the offenders. Some offenders were fired, others suspended and their twitter accounts deleted.

Curt Schilling Hall Of Fame | Video Game

Schilling has been on the Hall Of Fame ballot for seven times with his latest being January 2019 where he garnered 60.9% of the vote. He is truly one of the few very divisive candidates for enshrinement who were never associated with performance-enhancing drugs. Schilling’s Hall hopes have not been helped by his somewhat frequent online indiscretions.

Being a right-leaning political firebrand whose failed video-game company cost Rhode Island taxpayers millions, Schilling has created headlines in his post-playing days by gleefully sharing specious xenophobic, transphobic and conspiratorial memes.

Many of the knocks on Schilling have more to do with his mouth and Twitter thumbs than his career on the field as a player. He once jokingly endorsed the lynching of journalists, which multiple Hall of Fame voters have cited in the past as reason to leave him off the list. Very few if any members of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America seem terribly eager to hear what he’d have to say in an induction speech.

Curt Schilling Bloody Sock

Curt Schilling is one of the greatest postseason pitchers of all time. He won World Series MVP honors and a championship ring on the heels of a brilliant October with the Diamondbacks in 2001.

In the 2004 ALCS, Schilling helped author one of the greatest comebacks in MLB playoff history with his bloody-sock heroics for the title-bound Red Sox against the Yankees. He picked up his third ring as part of the 2007 Red Sox in his final season, and finished with a lifetime 11-2 record with a 2.23 ERA in 19 postseason starts.

Curt Schilling famously threw seven brilliant innings against the Yankees in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series and six more in Game 2 of the World Series that season with blood seeping through his sock after procedures to stabilize an injured ankle. He became a hero in Boston for the gutsy performances that helped the Red Sox toward their first World Series win since 1918.

Curt Schilling Red Sox

The trade of Schilling to Boston (Red Sox) reunited Curt Schilling with Terry Francona, his manager during his final four years with the Philadelphia Phillies. He won his 20th game of 2004 for the Red Sox on September 16, 2004, becoming the fifth Boston pitcher to win 20 or more games in his first season with the team, and the first since Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley in 1978. Schilling ended his regular season with a 21–6 record.

Schilling officially announced his retirement from professional baseball on March 23, 2009, after 20 seasons. Schilling ended his career with a 216–146 record, 3.46 ERA and 3116 strikeouts, 15th-most in MLB history.
