Man arrested after road rage incident on McGregor Boulevard
LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A man allegedly rammed his car into another during a road rage incident in Fort Myers Monday night.
It happened at RonDao’s Pizzeria on McGregor Boulevard.
The victim said 54-year-old Mark Melnikoff flipped him off near the intersection of Kelly Road and McGregor Boulevard.
He rolled down the window and asked what he did wrong, but said that only made things worse. The victim said the suspect followed him down McGregor.
Eventually, the two ended up in RonDao’s back parking lot. Melnikoff is caught on the restaurant’s security camera T-boning the victim’s car. The video then shows the two getting out of both cars.
The suspect allegedly chased the victim and called him a racial slur as he attempted to get the suspect’s license plate.
Deputies arrested Melnikoff on a felony charge for aggravated battery. According to his booking report, a woman was also in his car at the time of the crash. She told deputies the two heard something hit the car, which prompted them to follow the victim to write down the license plate.
Signs cursing out Fort Myers Code Enforcement removed from the riverside property
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Two signs with swear words were removed from the front of a riverside property Monday.
One sign was aimed at the City of Fort Myers Code Enforcement division. It read “f***k you code enforcement.” The second sign took a stab at the condition of a home on Edgewood Avenue, which read “20 years of motherf***king blight.”
The City of Fort Myers confirmed the signs were a code violation.
Although the signs are gone, the property still suffers from other problems: trash debris litters the front of the property, the gate was splattered with white paint and the grass is overgrown.
The property has received several code violations since 2004, according to the city’s violation and permits data.
The violations include nearly one dozen complaints of overgrown grass, debris being dumped on the property and the trash can was put out too early for pickup.
Records show the home is deemed unlivable.
