Craig Price Biography
Craig Chandler Price is an American serial killer who was charged with four murders just one month before his 16th birthday in 1989. He committed these crimes between the age of 13 and 15 in Warwick, Rhode Island. He had killed a woman and her two daughters that year after he had killed another woman two years earlier. He had an existing criminal record for petty theft.
After being discovered he confessed to his crimes. He was arrested, tried and convicted as a minor. According to the law, this meant that he would be released at the age of 21 and all his criminal records would be sealed. Price would then brag that he would “make history” just after his release. His case led to changes in state law to have juveniles to be tried and convicted as adults for serious crimes. These changes could not be applied retroactively to Price. Residents from Rhode Island formed the group Citizens Opposed to the Release of Craig Price to lobby for his continued imprisonment, due to his brutal crimes and opinions from the state psychologists that he was a poor candidate for rehabilitation.

Price was high on marijuana and LSD when he stabbed 39-year-old Joan Heaton 57 times and her two daughters Jennifer 10 years old and Mellisa 8 years old. The stabbings were so brutal that the handles broke off the knives he used and the blades stayed inside the bodies of the victims.
