South Africa is inconsolably saddened by the loss of another beloved icon. The nation is in grief following the untimely death of rapper and songwriter Costa Tsobanoglou, also known by his stage name Costa Titch.
The 27-year-old became unwell while performing at the Ultra South Africa music festival in Johannesburg and passed away. Social media users were fascinated by the video of the young artist passing out on stage while playing one of his songs.
He was immediately raised by his security team and was allowed to continue performing, but he slumped once more and was unable to stand. Festival goers were seen rushing to his assistance in an effort to help him.
Costa Titch was one of the biggest stars in the South African music scene. He recently secured a contract with Konvict Kulture, the record company run by renowned musician Akon.
The popularity of Costa’s hit songs “Big Flexa,” “Nkalakatha,” and “Active” have significantly raised awareness of his contributions to the Amapiano genre. Almost 45 million people have viewed “Big Flexa” on YouTube alone, and a remix featuring American rapper Akon was just recently made available.
