Cornelio Reyna Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

Cornelio Reyna (September 15, 1940 – January 22, 1997) was a Mexican norteo singer who died on January 22, 1997, at the age of 71. Cornelio Reyna established a collaboration with the renowned Ramón Ayala in 1963, and the result was the classic duet Los Relampagos del Norte, which became a worldwide sensation. For the next eight years, the band remained intact, and then in 1971, Reyna chose to pursue a solo career as a mariachi singer in Mexico. His mariachi career did not turn out to be as successful as music industry analysts had predicted. He was unable to compete and earn a place on the stage with captivating mariachi legends Vicente Fernandez and Antonio Aguilar, despite his best efforts. Reyna continued to play for another 26 years until passing away in 1997 from a stomach ulcer. Reyna sang and played the bajo sexto in the band. She was also the main vocalist. “El Tenampa,” “Mi Tesoro,” “Me Cai De La Nube,” and “Te Vas Angel Mio” are some of the most well-known songs.

Despite the fact that Cornelio Reyna died at an early age, he was able to create numerous hits that would be remembered for a long time. It all started with Los Relampagos del Norte and their hit song Ya no Llores in 1963. The song became so popular that Ramon Ayala put it on his newest CD, which was also named Ya no Llores, in the same year. He was married to Mercedes Castro, who was also a mariachi music performer in her own right. She is now performing with Amparo Higuera, the only surviving member of Dueto Las Jilguerillas, who is also a vocalist. In 2004, Imelda Higuera passed away. One of their most recent offerings is Dos Botellas de Mezcal.
