The National Hockey League (NHL) and Corey Perry’s fans are concerned about his facial injuries. Perry is a professional ice hockey player from Canada who now plays for the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning.
Corey won the Memorial Cup with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and a gold medal with Canada in the World Junior Championships in his major junior career.
He was selected 28th overall in the 1st round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2007. In 2011, he was named the league’s most valuable player for the 2010–11 season, winning the Hart Memorial Trophy.
Tampa Bay Lightning Corey Perry Injury Update
The Tampa Bay Lightning Player Corey Perry is fit and ready to play in the next match after being injured in an unfortunate way last month. There has been no news of Corey having any relapse in his injury.
He had a severe cut over his right eye during pregame warmups for Game 2 of the team’s series against the Florida Panthers on Thursday night, but it didn’t affect him once the puck dropped.
Thus, we consider that he has fully healed from it and learned from his mistake.
Tampa Bay Lightning will face the New York Rangers, and Perry, who plays as a striker, is already focusing on beating the goalie (Igor Shesterkin) of his opponents as he knows that Igor is very talented and will stop any shots that he sees coming.
What Happened To His Face?
In May, Corey Perry was injured badly in pregame warmups when a puck deflected over the crossbar and caught him in the face, tearing him open before Game 2.
He was warming up without a helmet when a puck he shot ricocheted off the goal’s crossbar and into his face, causing a cut over his eye.
He was patched up and went on to play in the game for the Lightning, scoring the game’s opening goal on his way to a 2-1 victory and a 2-0 series lead heading back to Tampa for Game no. 3 and 4.
