Chris Wallace has announced his departure from Fox News. He’s eschewing the far-right network in favor of CNN Plus, CNN’s streaming service.
The information was revealed at the very end of his Fox show today. However, the New York Post, controlled by Rupert Murdoch, ignores the CNN portion of the story, as does Foxnews.com, which keeps the news of Wallace’s departure of its website.
Wallace, whose contract at Fox News expires this month, was widely regarded as the network’s most balanced journalist. He was the anchor of the channel’s Sunday roundtable show “Fox News Sunday” for 18 years.
Confirmed: Chris Wallace Is Joining CNN Streaming
Wallace announced his retirement at the end of his weekly show, Fox News Sunday, while simultaneously complementing the Murdoch-owned network’s executives for remaining neutral in his coverage.
During the Trump administration, Wallace had become an increasingly lonely presence on Fox News, challenging Donald Trump on complex matters in contrast to the softer tone many on-air personalities used with the previous president.

It was also revealed that “Fox News Sunday” will have a rotating host list until a permanent replacement is found.
Mike Wallace, the legendary “60 Minutes” correspondent, is Wallace’s father. He began his broadcast journalism career in 1975 at NBC News, then spent 15 years at ABC News until joining Fox in 2003.
Why Did He Leave Fox News?
After 18 years at the network, he stated he was departing because he wanted to “attempt something new, go beyond politics to all the subjects I’m interested in.”
‘I’m looking forward to a new experience, and I hope you’ll join me.’
‘And so – for the last time, dear friends – that’s it for today,’ Wallace finished. Have a wonderful week. And I hope you’ll continue to keep an eye on things.’
