Colin O’Donoghue is an Irish actor and musician who got famous for his incredible portrayal of Captain Killian “Hook” Jones on the widely-watched TV show, Once Upon a Time. O’donoghue also appeared as the skeptical novice priest, Michael Kovak, in the horror-thriller film The Rite (2011). Over the last eighteen years of O’Donoghue’s career, he has starred in several critically and commercially successful plays and TV shows within and outside the UK and Ireland. Colin O’Donoghue (Colin Arthur O’Donoghue) was born in Drogheda, Ireland on the 26th of January 1981 to Con and Mary O’Donoghue. As the younger of two children, O’Donoghue and his older brother Allen was raised in Drogheda, in a Roman Catholic family setting. Paternally, O’Donoghue is cousins with the Irish musician Harry O’Donoghue. Growing up, he attended Dundalk Grammar School and then proceeded to The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin.
