Cold Case: Is John And Linda Sohus Murder Arrested?

An infamous Rockefeller impersonator was convicted of first-degree murder in the 1985 discovery of a man’s remains buried beneath a California House.

In a cold case with much circumstantial evidence, Christian Gerhartsreiter was tried 28 years after newlyweds John and Linda Sohus vanished.

The prosecution’s evidence primarily centered on the peculiar actions of the guy who went by several aliases, including Clark Rockefeller. He spent 20 years pretending to be the heir to the storied oil fortune.

The jury pondered for approximately a day before deciding on Wednesday.

Authorities said that Gerhartsreiter, a German immigrant who had resided in a guest cottage at Sohus’ mother’s residence in the affluent San Marino enclave, had lived a previous life.

He hinted that he was of royal descent when he went by the name Chris Chichester. He joined the church, made friends with locals, and revealed to some of them that he was a film student.

An acquaintance claimed that Linda Sohus once referred to John’s mother’s cottage tenant as “creepy” and that she and her husband avoided contact with him.

Although he disappeared shortly after the Sohus couple in 1985, the locals linked him to their disappearance.

Linda’s remains have not been located, but John’s bones were discovered in 1994 at the San Marino property while a swimming pool was dug. The enigma was utterly void of any hints.
