Coco Rocha Reveals Why She ‘Always Turned Down’ the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Over the course of the end of the week, the 34-year-old supermodel took to TikTok where she hinted at the catwalk gig she’s always “turned down.” After posting a Coco Rocha Model Camp version of the “How I’d Display” challenge, a fan asked Rocha to demonstrate the swagger belonging to “a ‘particular’ problematic brand from the mid-2000s.”

The mother of three then shared a video of herself exuberantly waving and blowing kisses without disclosing the brand she was poking fun at.

“Always turned down this particular show yet I think it goes a lil somethin’ like this,” she composed across the video, which has garnered north of one million perspectives since its posting.

She continued her unobtrusive shade in the caption writing, “Air kisses and spray tans were never my thing.”

However, a client in the remark section sorted out the Rocha secret, hinting that the runway icon was referencing Victoria’s Confidential. (The infamous Victoria’s Mystery Fashion Show was canceled in 2019 because of rising concerns over the brand’s marketing strategies and lack of variety).

“the brand was problematic yet the angels will always be icons,” they composed, referring to the names given to the brand’s models.

Rocha then confirmed she was in fact referencing the lingerie company replying, “Goodness for sure. Half of them were my nearest model companions, we grew up together.”

The release of Hulu’s confession docuseries Victoria’s Confidential: Angels and Demons in July further exposed the brand ‘s dark history of misogyny and body-shaming under former proprietor Leslie Wexner.

The three-part series also addressed how with the launch of the company’s PINK line in the early 2000s — a brand targeted toward tweens and teenagers — the two staffers and catwalk models felt uncomfortable with what they saw as a change in the company’s marketing from targeting adult ladies and men to making youngsters regret themselves.

In a statement shared with Individuals, Victoria’s Mystery addressed the documentary and shared that the brand has moved and developed since becoming a stand alone company in 2021.

“The company featured in this docuseries doesn’t mirror today’s Victoria’s Confidential and Co.

At the point when we became a stand-alone company in August 2021, we set off to regain the trust of our clients, associates and partners,” a Victoria’s Mysterious spokesperson tells Individuals. “Today, we are pleased to be an alternate company, with another leadership team and mission to welcome, celebrate, and champion all ladies.

This transformation is an excursion, and our work continues to turn into the Victoria’s Mysterious our clients and associates merit — where everyone feels seen, regarded, and valued.”
