Cleavon Jake Little (June 1, 1939 – October 22, 1992) was an American actor who appeared on stage and in films as well as on television.

Little started his professional acting career on the stage in the late 1960s. For his performance in the Broadway production of Purlie in 1970, he was nominated for a Drama Desk Award as well as a Tony Award. On the ABC comedy Temperatures Rising, Little played the irreverent Dr. Jerry Noland, who was a source of amusement for the audience. It was only two years later that he landed the part that would make him a household name: Sheriff Bart in the Mel Brooks comedy Blazing Saddles. 

Throughout the 1980s, Little continued to make appearances on stage, in films, and as a guest star on television shows including The Twilight Zone. The NBC comedy Dear John earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in 1989, and he reprised the role the following year. True Colors, a Fox comedy that ran from 1991 to 1992, had him as the lead. In a 1992 episode of Tales from the Crypt, he made his last on-screen cameo before passing away. Little, who was 53 at the time of his death, died of colorectal cancer in October 1992.
