Clare Bowditch Weight Loss Through Diet At A Young Age

Clare Bowditch lost weight by starting a low-carb diet in grade four. Clare Bowditch lost significant weight after body image issues as a child.

She started obsessively thinking about her weight and appearance, which has negatively impacted her life and mental health and has become a recurring issue.

At the age of six, when she put herself on the scale, she was amazed to see her gaining weight, and she learned that it was because of her puberty.

Clare Bowditch Weight Loss And Diet

Clare Bowditch weight loss started when she started dieting at a very young age. Clare had a lot of issues due to her weight gain.

When she was in high school, she started gaining weight rapidly, and every morning before school, she locked herself in the bathroom and recorded her weight, which seemed to be climbing, to her disbelief.

Not by much, but by some, and it was enough to make her believe she had issues with herself and started thinking about dieting and workout routines to follow.

And by the age of ten, she wanted to feel the same in appearance as other kids in the school and started consulting with a famous Diet Doctor in Melbourne.

At the end of grade four, she left school chubby, and after her vacation, she went to school confident, thin, tall, and felt like she succeeded on all fronts.

Her Diet Details

When worrying about her weight gain, she followed the diet plan by Dr. Von Thinburger.

She started dieting without telling her parents and initiated her diet plan with a calorie book; until then, she didn’t know what calorie was and how it affected her body.

Her diet had low-fat food, and obsessive calorie counting soon morphed into something unique. A game of sorts to see how far she could push things and still not get caught.

In short, she did not eat enough for her growing body to feel satiated, which left her hungry, sometimes starving, and horrifically vulnerable to rebound overeating that inevitably leads to a binge.

However, she gave up on dieting a lot of time and started eating unhealthy foods from time to time and told herself that these signs were her being weak and inadequate.

Her Journey Through Weight Loss

Clare journey from childhood till now has been inspiring to many of her fans, and she doesn’t hesitate to tell the story to everyone.

Initially, in the school, when they used to collect data from every student, they measured her weight and screamed in front of the whole school; she felt ashamed and always had the feeling that her being ‘too big.’

Her size led to bullying at school, where she was called Big Bird and other derogatory names. She was embarrassed, and it didn’t help that she couldn’t wear store clothes and had no more powerful role models to look up to.

Her parents argued that what mattered was what was inside her rather than how much she weighed. However, Bowditch begged to be taken to a dietician in year four and was put on an absurdly rigorous low-fat, low-carb, no-dairy, no-sugar diet.

She received praise from her peers and even their parents when she did manage to drop weight. Well-intended remarks that equated thinness with worthiness became deeply ingrained in her mind.

Telling new stories was the key to her recovery from her nervous breakdown. It helped Bowditch have the courage to pursue a career in music and overcome her anxiety and weight image issues.
