Saffitz appears in several series on the Bon Appétit YouTube channel, most reputably Gourmet Makes, in which she makes gourmet versions of popular snack foods by reverse-engineering them.
She joined Bon Appétit magazine in 2013 and acted as a Senior Food Editor. She departed from Bon Appétit in August 2018 but was reinstated in November to work as a freelance recipe developer and video host.
