Claire Steps (born 17 August 1977) is an English singer and member of the Steps musical group.
Richards was ousted in the semi-finals of the second series of Popstar to Operastar. Her voice has a soprano range. On January 3, 2013, Richards entered Celebrity Big Brother and finished fourth. From April to June 2014, she was a frequent panelist on Loose Women.

Richards began his career with the pop band TSD. They had little success with the release of their second single, “Baby I Love You,” and their record company, Avex, dropped them. She remained a receptionist for a further seven months, gaining the title of the temporary employee for the month of May 1997.
Richards debuted as a solo performer on July 30, 2015, with the release of “One for Sorrow,” a cover of the Steps song. The acoustic version of the song was made to honor Steps producer Pete Waterman.
Steve Anderson, with whom Richards was working on an album at the time, produced and orchestrated the song. In September 2015, Richards released a condensed version of “Deeper Shade of Blue” in response to widespread fan demand. The one-take song was made available on Amazon, iTunes, and streaming services on September 4.
In May 2011, it was revealed that Richards would be a part of the second season of Popstar to Operastar, which would be her first substantial high-profile performance in ten years. The show premiered on ITV on June 5. She advertised the program on OK! TV on June 6th. Despite her highly praised the performance of the Queen of the Night aria from Mozart’s The Magic Flute in the semifinal, Cheryl Baker overcame her to progress to the final.

Claire Richards Family
Richards’ younger sister Gemma Richards plays a bridesmaid in the “Tragedy” music video. Mark Webb, a backup dancer with Steps, and Richards married for the first time in 2003. Richards and Reece Hill divorced in 2005 after rekindling their relationship. Richards welcomed Charlie into the world on May 8, 2007.
In January 2008, Richards and Hill announced their engagement; they married on November 1 of the same year. In the 30 June 2009 issue of Woman magazine, Richards announced she and her husband were expecting their second child. The day Daisy Richards was born was December 29, 2009.
