Claire Hosterman is a singer, music teacher, and the older sister of famous Disney star, Dove Cameron. She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 2007, a degree in anthropology from Pitzer College in California and is of Scottish and French descent.

Claire Hosterman was born on the 10th day of March 1989 to Phillip Alan Hosterman and Bonnie Wallace in Seattle, Washington. Besides being known as Dove Cameron’s sister, she is a music teacher and singer. Claire Hosterman studied voice in Seattle, Washington, Paris and Los Angeles for over 10 years before embarking on voice training.
She began teaching singing to students from all over her singing studio in Burbanks, Los Angeles, as she saw it as a way to reach the world. Her voice calling lessons proved to be a real success and led her to take voice calling lessons online via Skype. Taking voice lessons online via Skype became a big deal, which led her to have students from all over the world. She finally put her name on the world music map.
Today, she continues to give singing lessons to students providing them with the technique that will help them enrich their voice to allow them to navigate through all styles of singing. Claire Hosterman uses a kinesthetic and holistic approach to teaching her students. She believes that anyone can sing, but that the proper technique is essential to their development. She participated in the Bainbridge Performing Arts Young Playwrights Festival in 2008 and was apprenticed to Steven Fogell, Assistant Production Manager of BPA Camp Teen Bainbridge’s Les Miserables.
Her hard work and dedication was recognized when she received the seventh annual Amy Award as an Emerging Artist in 2008. This award is still given annually by Bainbridge’s Arts and Humanities Department to a young artist who makes evidence of a great sense of quality, creativity, exploration and dedication in a chosen field of art. She went on to direct many Bainbridge High School and BPA productions herself. She also experimented with vegan cooking to become a promoter of vegetarian food.

Her parents co-owned and designed for a jewelry company in India. Her father was the founder of Kandahar Trading Company, an ethnic fashion accessories business. He was a pianist and cook, while his mother was a poet and novelist. Her father enjoyed music as a hobby and worked Claire and her sister on the piano and saxophone during his lifetime. This certainly contributed to his interest in voice training.
His mother, Bonnie Wallace, wrote a book called ‘The Hollywood Parents Guide’. Her parents eventually divorced and she lost her father when she and her sister were still young in 2011

Claire has a younger sister named DoveCameron. Dove Cameron is 21 years old and was born in Seattle, Washington. An American actress and singer best known for playing dual roles in the Disney teenage sitcoms Liv and Maddie, she also starred as Mal, daughter of Maleficent in Descendants. Dove Cameron suffered 5th grade bullying through her entire high school experience.
The loss of her father and the broken family makes Claire and her sister very close as they always try to be there for each other. She even maintained closeness with Dove’s boyfriend, Ryan Mc Martan. For her, it was like an older sister, but unfortunately the relationship didn’t last long as they called off their engagement months after announcing it.
