He is currently facing the charges of second-degree murder as he fatally shot Lyoya during a traffic check in April. Lyoya and Schurr were shown fighting on the ground in the video released online. The clip was recorded in a dashcam and another from a smartphone.
It was seen that Lyoya was attempting to seize control of the officer’s stun gun. But he was eventually restrained with his knee to his back by the cop, who shot him while he was facedown on the ground.

Patrick allegedly had criminal charges for domestic violence. He also had revoked his driver’s license and a stolen tag on his car. Later, it was also discovered that the blood alcohol was more than 3x the legal limit.
