Christina Aguilera Biography and Life Story

Christina Aguilera was born in Staten Island, New York, on December 18, 1980, and was indeed predestined as an American pop star. Approvingly, as a famous and renowned singer of the 2000s, the young, glamorous and enthusiastic Christina Maria Aguilera grew up. She was born to a father from Ecuador, Fausto Aguilera, and a mother of Irish origin, Shelly Kearns, all of whom speak Spanish fluently. Growing up along with her four brothers, Michael, Casey, Rachel, and Stephanie, Christina learned that she always wanted to be a singer from the beginning of her childhood.

Christina had known all the songs from the ‘Sound of Music’ since she was five years old, all of which she performed at the block parties in the neighborhood. Only a short time later, as the youngest person ever, she sang the National Anthem at professional sports activities in the Pittsburgh area, where she stayed with her mother after the split of her parents. Ten-year-old Christina went to an open audition for “The Mickey Mouse Club” but was refused, seriously hoping to develop her future in entertainment. Just two years later did she obtain a favorable reaction. There, she became a “musketeer” collaborating with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Keri Russell, who are not yet popular. After two years of recording, dancing, and playing at Disney, Christina submitted a demo tape to RCA exec Ron Fair at the behest of director Steve Kurtz.

And then she actually had a record contract with the “talent hunter” boss at 15, so the story goes. Lucky for Christina, she obtained a fascinating request from her Disney friend to perform “Reflection” the lead song for the 1998 animated movie “Mulan” which was later awarded for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for a Golden Globe. She was widely successful one year later, in 1999, for her self-titled album “Christina Aguilera” which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 200 and Canadian album charts with a sales rate of 8 million in the United States. In comparison, the album’s well-known songs, “Gennie in the Bottle” “What a Girl Wants” and “Come on Over Baby (All I Want is You)” stayed on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1999 and 2000. Another single named “Christina Aguilera” from the “I Turn to You” album also became the top 5 in the United States. The newcomer consequently received the 2000 Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

In 2001, Christina launched her collaboration song with Latin singer Ricky Martin, “Nobody Wants to Be Lonely,” which climbed to the top 5 in the UK. And Germany, and in Canada, Switzerland and Australia they were the top 40. In creating new works, the insights she had received made her more and more imaginative. In the same year, for “Moulin Rouge!” (2001) soundtrack “Lady Marmalade” she had another partnership with Mya, Lil ‘Kim and Pink that earned her a Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. The song was also successful in Australia with the “Moulin Rouge!” soundtrack that became that country’s 2001 Best Selling Record. Christina received two trophies at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards in conjunction with her co-performers, one for the coveted Best Video Of The Year and the other for Best Album From A Movie Soundtrack.
