Christian Bethancourt does not have kids at the moment.
Christian Gabriel Bethancourt Ruiz is a Panamanian professional baseball catcher, first baseman, and outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball.
Bethancourt was born and raised in Panama City, Panama where he began playing baseball at the age of five. As a third baseman, he tended to abandon his position in favor of wherever the ball was hit.
In 2014, Bethancourt began the year with the Gwinnett Braves of the Class AAA International League and made his third consecutive All-Star Futures Game on June 24.
On December 10, 2015, Bethancourt was traded to the San Diego Padres for right-hander Casey Kelly and Ricardo Rodriguez. After spring training ended in April 2016, Bethancourt named the backup to start catcher Derek Norris.
Bethancourt signed a minor league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers. He was assigned to the team’s Triple-A affiliate, the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, for the 2018 season.
On April 15, 2022, Bethancourt was added to the Athletics roster for their road trip to Toronto as a COVID-related substitute.
He played three innings at first base. It was the first time Bethancourt had appeared in a Major League Baseball game since the 2017 season.
