Chloe X Halle Bio

Chloe and Halle Bailey were born on July 1, 1998 and March 27, 2000 respectively. They were both born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia to Courtney (mother) and Doug Bailey (father).

The sisters began exploring their singing skills from when they were little. For the younger, Halle would encourage her to see her older sister sing or dance. After she started following Chloe, she found that not only did she imitate her, but that she had a passion for singing, acting and all the things they did together.

Chloe X Halle started out as two young YouTubers, starting their channel in 2008 when they were just 10 and 8 years old. They performed covers of pop songs on the channel, including songs by the likes of Beyoncé, Adele, Katy Perry, and Rihanna. From there, her fan base grew. Also in 2008, the girls’ father began teaching them to write, paying more attention to the basic song structure. The first songs they wrote were terrible, Halle said, but beautiful lyrics have emerged over time.

The insanely talented sisters continued to do their thing on YouTube and finally got it right after uploading their remarkable cover of Beyonce’s Pretty Hurts on December 22, 2013. From then on, they pursued various record labels, all of which were rejected by the sisters and their parents because, according to their father, they feared they would be financially ripped off, as is often the case in the music industry, especially for newcomers.

They also didn’t want to face the same. They encountered obstacles in the acting industry, where many casting agents refused to hire the girls, demanding that they get their dreadlocks done and their hair straightened.

Her rendition of Kinda Hurts which received a whirlwind of views and shares came after Beyonce, and she shared the video on her Facebook page. Shortly thereafter, Chloe X Halle landed a $1 million deal with well-known music label Parkwood Entertainment.

On April 16, 2016, the two released their first EP, Sugar Symphony, which was followed by singles such as “Drop” and “Fall”. The following year they released the critically acclaimed The Two of Us , a project they described as not being an album and not really a mixtape. It featured fresh songs, most of which were written and produced by the duo.

Chloe X Halle released the theme song for the sitcom series, Growing Up in December 2017. They became part of the cast as a series regular, although they initially signed on for recurring roles. Shortly after they were released on Grown Up , the super-talented girls released their debut album, The Kids Are Alright, which featured heavily in the series’ debut episode.

Their debut album , The Kids Are Fine, written and executive produced by them, was eventually released on March 23, 2018.
