Basketball player Chimezie Chukwudum Metu, a Nigerian-American, is now with the Sacramento Kings of the NBA.
He attended Lawndale High School in California, where, according to Rivals.com, he was a highly regarded four-star prospect. He committed to play basketball for the USC Trojans in college in 2014.
Metu participated in 34 games during his first season, starting two of them. He recorded 54 blocks, 6.4 points, and 3.6 rebounds per game on average. He participated in USC’s defeat to Providence in the 2016 NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament for 10 minutes.
All 36 of Metu’s games as a sophomore were starts, and he dramatically improved his play, averaging 14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest.
